Again, it's been forever! and I've been super busy. I need to go back a few months, though. In September we had a few days off for Chuseok, which is kind of like a Korean Thanksgiving. This is a big national holiday so it was one of my big important times to get days off of school since I don't have much vacation. So I chose to get Lasek surgery at the beginning of the weekend and therefore spent my entire Chuseok pretty much blind and lying around my dark apartment... you'd think it would be relaxing but I couldn't really use the computer, watch TV or read. You'd think I'd be able to at least sleep a lot... but at night I woke up every hour with terrible burning and stinging in my eyes. Therefore it was not exactly a relaxing vacation for me! Of course a couple months later it's all worth it to me as I can wake up and see like a regular person! This is something I haven't experienced since fourth grade... it almost seems like I can't remember what it was like to not be able to see well though haha. Anyway I'm thankful that I don't have to deal with contacts or glasses anymore. (And Lasik/Lasek in Korea is significantly cheaper than America, for anyone who is thinking about heading this direction... takes a few days to a week to recover depending on whether you get Lasik or Lasek.)
Despite my not being able to really celebrate the holiday at all, I did have a great time making songpyeon (rice cake with red bean inside) with my class the week before, which is a traditional thing to do during Chuseok. I got some adorable pictures on my phone that day! My favorite part was the super cute chef's outfits that some of the kids wore! Their parents really went all out haha. It was a fun day!

Anyway I'm making apple crisp to share a little fall/thanksgiving with my second graders tomorrow, so I'll have to update more on the past couple months and American Thanksgiving later...
